Literature Text

The wind speaks of a girl who is artistic and open minded,
Who has traveled the world and lived in many places,
And blows out happiness and sorrow in one breath.
Bright light shines through her finger tips and blinds the ocean,
Brilliant colors swerve and shout in the air she breathes,
Striving to make music to the eyes they meet.
Notes fly out of her in song and in ink,
The canvas breaking to the tune she cries,
Singing and shouting on the stage of the world,
The shining sun screams that she's here.
Whispers swerve around, but no rumors are true,
Because nobody knows of her secret stardom,
And the interested are nowhere to be found.
Her mystery is hidden in the depths of her plasma,
Forever until a person wails, "I'm here, tell me your secret."
This is actually my homework assignment for European Literature (I don't quite like this teacher--at least yet--because she just doesn't seem as focused and great as my last teacher, and a little bit too creative imo!!)
Soooooo I decided to be creative too. A bit dramatic.

We were supposed to introduce ourselves a bit like Homer did in his "Invocation to the Muse." Our poem was supposed to be based off of that "borrowing as much or as little from Homer as you'd like." Of course, I borrowed none, partly to spite the teacher, and partly because I wanted to be a bit more free, and partly because I don't want to taint Homer's amazing works with my terrible notes.
